MacKenzie King are supporting a family run, well-established business to recruit an Assistant Finance Manager on a 10-12 month maternity cover contract, based in Great Blakenham. As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will be enthusiastic and self-motivated with experience in management to assist with the running of the finance team.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure that the sales and purchase ledgers are maintained and continuously checked for accuracy.
- Assist the Finance Manager with the management of the finance team and supervise their day-to-day responsibilities.
- Ensure processes are followed and implement improvements.
- Review and process weekly and monthly payment runs, along with providing monthly pay run projections.
- Review the inputting of weekly payroll and finalise the payroll.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.
- Prepare and analyse KPI’s for review in weekly management meetings.
- Prepare and analyse profitability from different sections of the business to assist with strategic management decisions.
- Prepare and finalise the quarterly VAT reconciliation.
- Assist with ad-hoc requests from Directors and senior managers.
- Help ensure the company are compliant with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- Confident with technology and willingness to learn, maintain and develop systems.
- Competent with Office 365.
- Experience with Sage 50 (current) and Xero (future) desirable.
- AAT qualified or QBE.
- Driven, enthusiastic and forward-thinking.
- Analytical with a keen attention to detail.
- Problem solving approach.
- Proven background in managing a team.
