MacKenzie King are exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing SME business in Ipswich in their search for a Finance Director. You will play a pivotal role in their continued growth by analysing financial performance, advising on all findings and implementing any recommendations to improve profitability.

Reporting into the Managing Director, you will take full responsibility for all financial aspects of the company.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the Finance Manager and Finance team in all aspects of the day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Manage relationships with key financial stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and finance companies.
  • Monitor and control cash flow within all businesses in the group.
  • Be part of the Board of Directors, supporting and helping to provide accurate and timely financial information to support business growth and support with strategic growth of all group businesses.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Finance Team produce accurate and timely management accounts and relating KPI reports monthly for BOD meetings.
  • Responsible for supporting the businesses through growth and change by co-ordinating with Corporate Finance, Taxation, Equity and Acquisitions.
  • Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
  • Ensure that the annual audited accounts are produced in a timely and accurate manner and also lodged with Companies House.
  • Responsible for production of Annual Budgets, Forecasts and Planning.
  • Support and take responsibility where required for business projects to support the growth and profit improvement of the businesses.

Qualifications and experience

As a fully qualified Accountant you will have a proactive approach and a keen desire to modernise processes, seek efficiencies and better ways of working. It is important for you to have the interpersonal skills necessary to develop and sustain effective relationships both internally and externally coupled with excellent communication skills at all levels, including negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills. You will possess a high level of resilience and drive, able to be flexible and change direction as required and work well under pressure. You will be able to think strategically and support the other Directors in the strategic direction of the businesses.
